At 10:16am on Wednesday, 6 May, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between Junctions 8/9 and 10.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham, Bracknell and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a vehicle on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews also provided immediate emergency care to one person before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 40 minutes.
