At 10:21pm on Monday, 20 April, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 near Junction 13 (Chieveley).

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Hungerford fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two Officers and the Zetros Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire involving a lorry trailers. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one main jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately four hours and 40 minutes.
