At 6:22pm on Thursday, 9 July, we received reports of a fire near Cardiff Road in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Whitley Wood and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside two Officers.

Upon arrival, crews found a recycling baler on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire, before handing the scene over to onsite staff.

The crew from Caversham Road Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection.
