Fire in Slough

At 6pm on Saturday, 5 April, we received reports of a fire on Farnham Road in Slough.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham, Mortimer, Ascot, Crowthorne, Bracknell, Slough, Langley, Maidenhead and Theale fire station were sent to the scene. Crews from London Fire Brigade and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were also sent to the incident.

They were joined at the scene by two Officers, an Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station, a ‘Zetros’ water bowser from Bracknell Fire Station and an Environmental Decontamination Unit from Whitley Wood Fire Station.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a recycling centre. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used several hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Crews remained at the scene for 25 hours and have since returned to reinspect the scene for hotspots.
