At 7:25pm on Sunday, 14 June, we received reports of an incident near Bridge Street in Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two officers.

On arrival, crews discovered that a person had fallen into the River Kennet. Firefighters aided the person out of the water before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for approximately 30 minutes.
