Newbury firefighters will be holding a charity car wash on Saturday 25 March in an effort to raise as much money as possible for two worthy causes.
The car wash will take place at Newbury Fire Station on Hawthorn Road between 10am – 4pm, with all money raised going to the Firefighters Charity and West Berkshire Mencap.
West Berkshire Mencap has over 60 years’ experience of providing services for people with learning disabilities, their families, carers and professionals locally. Although they are affiliated to Royal Mencap they do their own fundraising.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides a range of services for fire service personnel and their families, including therapy and rehabilitation for injured firefighters. Donations help the charity to continue in the provision of life enhancing services to the fire and rescue community.
The suggested minimum donation is £5 per car and donations will be split between the two charitable causes.
Matt Frayne, Station Commander at Newbury Fire Station, said: “We’re hoping for a big turnout from the local community on Saturday. If you’re in the Newbury area on Saturday, please stop by to get your car cleaned and help raise money for these two important charities.”
