The Service Delivers Improved Maternity and Adoption Pay

Changes to Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (RBFRS) maternity and adoption leave will offer those eligible an increased maternity and adoption pay provision of up to 52 weeks full pay.

From 1 April 2024, those eligible at RBFRS will be entitled to 45 weeks full pay made up of both statutory and enhanced maternity and adoption pay, which inclusive of annual leave, bank holidays and keeping in touch days, making up to 52 weeks full pay. This is a significant increase to previous provision available.

The changes are part of a broader programme that focuses on supporting positive working arrangements to attract and retain highly skilled and valued staff.
