Fire Safety Advice to Festivalgoers

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is reminding festivalgoers to act responsibly to help prevent fires against the backdrop of a heightened outdoor fire risk in Berkshire.

The Service fully supports the national guidance regarding the ongoing risk of outdoor fires.

As part of this guidance, people were instructed not to light anything that could start a fire, including:

  • Disposable barbecues
  • Open flames and campfires
  • Fireworks

Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk. We want everyone to enjoy attending festivals and events and strongly urge people to act responsibly, and help protect our communities, countryside and emergency service resources during this period of increased risk.
