Drones

We work with partner agencies such as Thames Valley Police and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue to provide aerial capabilities, including specialist drones, at a range of different incidents.

These tools are useful for our crews when we are responding to incidents like large fires in the open, fires in tall buildings or wide area incidents such as flooding.

They give us a top-down view of an incident and allow us to more quickly identify hotspots and casualty locations across a large area.

However, the use of recreational drones over an incident could cause confusion and hinder our response. Therefore, we’d ask drone users to help us by not flying overhead and giving our crews and partners space to operate safely.
