Consultation on Members’ Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct Consultation

The Fire Authority consultation on Members’ Code of Conduct has now closed. The feedback will now be presented to the Fire Authority for consideration. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA) is consulting you on its Members’ Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct document outlines the standards and behaviours elected councillors are required to adhere to, on their appointment as a Fire Authority Member.

RBFA is made up of 20 elected Councillors from the six Unitary Authorities in Berkshire and the Fire Authority has a legal duty to ensure that an effective fire and rescue service is provided across Berkshire by setting the strategic direction and approving the fire service’s budget.

The Code of Conduct is based on the Nolan Principles and the Fire Standards Code of Ethics, which is attached as appendices to the RBFA Members’ Code of Conduct.

Please take part in the consultation by completing our online survey. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

The consultation is open from 9am on Monday, 5 December 2022 until 9am on Monday, 9 January 2023. Printed copies are available on request, please contact 0118 938 4611 or committeeteam@rbfrs.co.uk
