Cherry Avenue fire in the open

At 9:24pm on Monday, 8 August, we received reports of a fire in the open on Cherry Avenue in Slough.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Langley and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene alongside two officers.

Upon arrival, crews found that a fire had spread across several gardens, destroying four sheds and a number of trees. Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reels to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

Crews were on the scene for around three hours.
