Water Rescue, Burghfield

At 6:30am on Thursday, 2 November, we received a call to reports of a vehicle trapped in the water on Bennetts Lane in Burghfield.

Crews from Whitley Wood, Mortimer, Bracknell Fire Stations and the water rescue unit from Caversham Road Fire Station were sent to the scene,.

Upon arrival, firefighters rescued a man that had become trapped in his car by flood water.

When flooding does occur, be careful while driving – just 30cm of flood water can make your car float.

If a road is flooded, turn around and find another route – it’s not worth the risk.
