Lambourn fire station needs you!

Lambourn fire station is currently looking for retained (on-call) firefighters to join the service.

On-call firefighters come from all walks of life, but whilst on-call firefighters are ordinary men and women, they do an extraordinary job for the fire and rescue service and are integral to keeping their local fire station crewed and protecting the local community.

Currently, Lambourn fire engine can only be crewed about 18% of the time. That’s why we need to recruit more men and women as on-call firefighters in Lambourn.

If you’re interested in becoming a retained (on-call) firefighter then come and talk to your local firefighters and see if you’ve got what it takes!

The crew will be available to talk to on Saturday 6 May between 10am and 2.30pm at the fire station on Newbury Street.

During the event, you will be able to try out some physical tests that potential firefighters need to undergo to gauge fitness levels. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to meet firefighters already in the role and to have a tour of the fire station. Other Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service staff will be available to give an overview of the recruitment selection process and explain more about the application process for those who are interested. If you have any queries about this event, please call us on 0118 938 4632 or email recruitment@rbfrs.co.uk.
