Would you like to become an on-call firefighter in 2020?

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service are looking for on-call (retained) firefighters at seven of its fire stations across Berkshire.

Although these individuals are not based on fire stations, on-call firefighters are an essential part of the Service and usually live or work within 6-8 minutes (as detailed below) of their local on-call fire station and are ready to respond to any emergency when required. Find out more on our On-Call Firefighter page.

Firefighter Selection Testing (FST) weekends

Four testing weekends are planned per year and will be held at the Whitley Wood Training Centre in Reading. This testing involves physical tests. Find out about these on the Physical Tests page.
