Community Engagement Volunteers

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is committed to promoting fire safety to the residents of Berkshire. One way in which we help to keep people safe is through our free Safe and Well service.

We carry out free Safe and Well visits to reduce the risk of fires. Safe and Well visits significantly reduce the risk of home fires so it is important that we continue to promote the service and raise awareness of fire safety within the home, especially to higher risk households.

We have exciting opportunities for Community Engagement Volunteers to help support this service by:

  • Promoting the Safe and Well service to community organisations
  • Cascading Fire Safety messages at RBFRS and community partnership events
  • Contacting local community organisations to raise awareness of our services
  • Delivering leaflets to residents and community groups

Full induction training will be provided and all volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer alongside their local fire crew, meet other volunteers, develop new skills and share important messages within the community.

This role would suit those who are

  • Good communicators who are confident in speaking to people in a variety of settings.
