Mortimer Fire Station

Mortimer fire station is in West End Road and is an on-call station which means that its firefighters respond from their place of work or from home. They carry pagers, which are activated when there is an incident that they are required to attend.
There is one fire engine at Mortimer, a Mercedes Atego water tender ladder, and currently six firefighters at the station.
Training and drill nights take place every Monday at the station. Mortimer’s firefighters also work and train regularly alongside their wholetime colleagues.
The building dates from 1975, the following year Mortimer Fire Brigade became part of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
