Vehicle fire on the M4(W)

At 5:05pm on Friday, 16 February, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the westbound carriageway of the M4 near Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Langley and Maidenhead fire stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a flatbed lorry on fire. Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire before handing over to National Highways.

Crews were at the scene for approximately 21 minutes.
